Bringing the Character to Life: Adding the Face

Bringing the Character to Life: Adding the Face

In my previous post, I shared the first stage of creating this character, where I focused on building the head and getting the basic structure in place.

Now it’s time to add a little more personality.

Adding the Details

For this stage, I added the eyes, glasses and mouth.

It might seem like a few simple additions, but these details can completely change the way a character feels.

Once the eyes and mouth were added, the character started to look less like a basic design and more like an actual person with a personality.

That’s one of the things I enjoy about character creation. You can spend time working on the basic shapes, but sometimes it only takes a few small details before everything starts to come together.

The glasses also add another layer to the character’s appearance and help give the design a more distinct identity.

I’m still not completely done with the character, but I’m enjoying seeing the progress from one stage to the next.

This is also why I like sharing the process instead of only showing the final result. Looking at the finished character is great, but seeing how it got there gives you a better idea of the work and thought that goes into creating it.

Part 2 of the character creation process: Bringing the Face to Life.

More to come as I continue developing the character.
